“I almost stopped running completely about 3 years ago... every time I ran I wheezed... After a couple of months of following the training plans Mironda is sending me, I'm back to running AND breathing all at the same time!!! Today I even rocked 5 short sprint-recovery cycles!”  -Kathryn Quinlan

“…Being a good coach is knowing how to extract the best from different people.”

— Hope Powell, English international footballer and women's first-team manager of Brighton & Hove Albion

Many people ask why I use the word “house” in my business instead of other, more common words. I chose the word “house” very intentionally. Here’s why.

When you welcome people to your house, there’s an instant feeling of warmth, comfort, and safety. For female athletes, finding these attributes in the world of fitness can be difficult.

The simple truth is that women’s bodies are different. Our physical selves are impacted by many things during our lives: childbirth, hormonal shifts, lack of restful sleep, and lack of good nutrition. It is for these reasons that when I went out on my own in 2012, I made it a point to include the word “house” in my business’s name: I want women at all levels of activity to know they are athletes and that they have a place to come where it’s safe and comfortable to work on themselves.

I welcome you to my house

My Approach

As an active athlete over 50 years old, I understand the unique challenges female athletes face from both the outside world and the world inside your head. Many priorities compete for time in our lives, including work, family, grocery shopping, caregiving, and everything in between. It’s these very reasons that make it critical that you stay active, in a way that keep you from sustaining injuries and add longevity to your sport, not more stress.

I see athletes in many ways, from the person who runs the occasional 5k to the person who's chasing a personal record in their next marathon. There is an opportunity to reclaim that space and time and make it all your own by filling your cup with the things you love to do.

Being an athlete isn’t just about how many miles you ran or how far you can stretch. It’s about having an adventurous mind and a body that keeps up with your imagination.

The bottom line is that you want your body to stay healthy and strong so that you can show up for yourself and your loved ones the way you desire.

My approach is unique because every athlete is unique. Whether the kids are now in college and you’re ready to take care of yourself or you want to be the cool granny taking on fun new adventures, want to keep competing or navigating menopause and want to keep a strong, healthy body as your chemistry changes and adapts, I am here to make sure you have what you need physically, nutritionally, and mentally to reach your goals.

“…You go much deeper than what it looks like. You aren't just talking about nutrition and athleticism, you're looking at the whole person… The process I am going through right now: concentrating on my health, recognizing where I need help, getting it, and taking the time it needs to act on it, is big for me.  In order to be faithful to the nutrition, exercise, and care of my body, I have to put considerably more time into me. It feels weird, and sometimes, a little selfish; but I think all the online stuff and working from home has made it possible.”
